Located in the old church of San Vicente Martir of Potes, this noble building of the 14th century was constructed at the main confluence of the town’s rivers.

 

The Liébana Centre of Studies Don Desiderio Gómez Señas is an exhibition centre for all the cultural, artistic and musical events of the region. This late gothic church, which hosted the Lignum Crucis in former times and used to ring its bells calling for town council meetings, is considered a jewel of the local architecture. Its gothic walls contrast with its “modern” interior spaces.

 

Its 646 square meters provide a New Technologies hall, where the population of this rural area can develop Internet skills, and and exhibition hall, also used for cultural events, conferences, concerts, etc.

 

And finally, this is the only Pilgrim’s Information Office in the whole of Cantabria, where pilgrims from all over the world can obtain information about the Camino de Santiago and Camino Lebaniego of Santo Toribio. These are 2 of the 4 medieval places of jubilee in the whole Christianity, listed by UNESCO as World Heritage.
